SOTI Connect 2026.1: Printer Management With Less Downtime & Less Guesswork

Blog Banner - SOTI Connect 2026.1 Product Update

A printer going offline in a warehouse doesn’t announce itself. By the time someone notices, a label run is delayed, a shipment is held up and your IT team is fielding calls they shouldn’t have to take. SOTI Connect 2026.1 gives IT teams three concrete upgrades:

  • smarter data tools to catch problems before they escalate

  • richer dashboards to monitor compliance across every site

  • native Linux support that eliminates workarounds

Turning Printer Data into Actionable Intelligence with Computed Custom Attributes

Many organizations rely on device data to manage printer fleets. However, turning raw data into meaningful insights isn’t easy, especially when individual device properties cannot be combined.

SOTI Connect 2026.1 introduces Computed Custom Attributes. It allows IT teams to create dynamic data fields that are automatically calculated from existing device properties. Admins can now combine properties like device age, error count and firmware version into a single printer health score and trigger automated alerts before a failure becomes an outage.

This printer management feature helps IT teams:

  • Customize data views

  • See better insights without needing to export data

  • Create smarter dashboards and reports

  • Automate actions based on calculated logic

  • Trigger alerts when conditions are met

  • Identify high-risk devices

See Every Non-Compliant Printer Across Every Site – Before It Becomes a Problem

When you’re managing hundreds of printers across dozens of sites, a non-compliant device in a remote warehouse doesn’t show up until something stops working. Limited dashboards and weak segmentation make it harder to identify non-compliant devices, track performance or respond quickly when issues occur.

SOTI Connect 2026.1 expands dashboard capabilities with new widgets and segmentation tools, including:

  • Compliance Table: Instantly view non-compliant devices.

  • Dashboard Map: Visualize devices using location data.

  • Plus, additional interface improvements that reduce the clicks between spotting an issue and resolving it.

When a non-compliant device surfaces on the Compliance Table, your team can act immediately, without digging through reports or switching platforms. IT Admins can organize and monitor multiple customer groups within a single printer management environment.

Simplifying Printer Management on Linux with Protocol Adapters

Many distributed enterprises rely on Linux environments in stores, warehouses and remote sites. Previously, the inability to natively run Platform Agents on Linux forced teams to rely on additional hardware or unsupported workarounds, increasing cost and complexity.

Protocol Adapters (PAs) can now run as Linux services across Ubuntu, Debian and Raspberry Pi environments. This means they can be deployed directly on existing Linux systems without requiring additional infrastructure.

For warehouses running Ubuntu or a remote site on Raspberry Pi, PAs now deploy directly on existing hardware – no additional servers, no workarounds and no extra budget line.

How SOTI Connect Enhances Printer Management Across Your Organization

Taken together, these updates mean your team spends less time reacting to printer failures and more time running the operations that depend on them.
